One of the keys to the success of Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir is the enormous cast of villains. There is typically a new villain every episode, making it fun for fans to see which powers Ladybug and Cat Noir will be up against. The villains are also usually their friends and family, which drives the plot of the story.
Despite this, there are a few duds when it comes to Miraculous Ladybug villains. These villains are either not very effective, have no redeeming qualities, or are exceedingly annoying. Villains are an integral part of any story, but fans have grown tired of some of Miraculous Ladybug’s lackluster criminals.
10 Princess Fragrance Is Not Up To Snuff
Princess Fragrance is the akumatized version of Rose Lavillant. She first transforms into Princess Fragrance after Chloe Bourgeois makes fun of her and destroys a letter that Rose wrote for a visiting Prince. She has a perfume weapon that brainwashes people into doing her bidding when she sprays them.
Princess Fragrance is not that well-liked as a villain. Although she can quickly create an army, the phrase that all of her lackeys say can get on audiences’ nerves. Additionally, she keeps returning without doing much in the long run. She has an interesting premise as a villain, but her character just fell short in the minds of viewers.
9 Guitar Villain Needs Some Different Power-Up Phrases
Guitar Villain is the akumatized version of Jagged Stone – seemingly the most popular rockstar in Paris. Jagged is transformed after another artist insults him, accusing him of being out of touch and old. Once Jagged is transformed into Guitar Villain, he uses his powers to blast waves of sound at people, making them dance uncontrollably.
While he sounds like a cool villain on the surface, Guitar Villain’s power phrases become exceedingly annoying. His overall aesthetic is interesting, but the repetitive nature of his words prevent audiences from liking him. Knowing that he is supposed to mimic the words of a popular video game does not help the fact that this villain needs to find some new material.
8 Mr. Pigeon Needs A New Hobby
Mr. Pigeon – better known as Mr. Xavier Ramier – is a happy man as long as no one messes with his beloved pigeons. When he transforms, he has the power to control any pigeon at will with nothing but a word and a bird call. Every time he appears, he tries to punish Paris for being mean to his pigeons.
Mr. Ramier has become Mr. Pigeon so many times that there is an episode entitled “Mr. Pigeon 72” that mocks that fact. Fortunately, Ladybug gave him a special Lucky Charm to protect against Hawk Moth’s akumas. However, as Hawk Moth has already found a way to break the charms, audiences will probably still be seeing a lot more of Mr. Pigeon.
7 Rogercop Is Far Too Literal
Officer Roger Raincomprix is a police officer for the Paris Police Department. One day, he is akumatized into Rogercop when he is asked to turn a blind eye to the law. This goes against everything he believes, so he uses his Rogercop persona to punish those who do not follow the rules.
While this sounds like an enticing concept at first (a look into the strength of the justice system), Rogercop is boring. He doesn’t do a lot, and what he does is very predictable. Additionally, his strict adherence to every rule would make anyone’s eyes roll. Rogercop is no fun because he is too rigid in his beliefs.
6 Gigantitan Is Not A Good Substitute
When Hawk Moth sets out to akumatize his son’s bodyguard, the victim suddenly becomes calm. This causes the akuma to ignore him and move on to a screaming baby. While the interaction between baby August and Hawk Moth is humorous, Gigantitan is one villain who fans grew annoyed with.
Since he is a baby, he cries a lot. His constant requests for a lollipop make him an incredibly jarring character. Fortunately, he appears minimally throughout Miraculous Ladybug, but it does make audiences wish Hawk Moth would just leave the baby alone.
5 Chris Master Is Disliked
Chis Lahiffe is the younger brother of Nino Lahiffe. Marinette is asked to babysit Chris, but he proves to be a handful. When he stumbles upon a stash of presents (meant for Adrien), Marinette lies and says that she is an elf and only the most special kid on Santa’s List would get the chance to open one early. However, Chris is impatient and becomes Chris Master to get his present early.
This villain is fairly decent as far as Miraculous Ladybug evil-doers go. He manages to stir up a lot of chaos in his quest to find Santa. Unfortunately, this also highlights him as a spoiled child. He is constantly whining about getting the toy he wants from Santa, and his overall nature would make any audience member cringe at his behavior.
4 Miracle Queen Gave Up Everyone’s Identities
Chloe Bourgeois is a rather controversial character on her own. However, when augmented by an akuma, she becomes even more divisive. After being let down by Ladybug for not receiving a Miraculous to help save her parents, Chloe accepts one from Hawk Moth instead. She even agrees to let him akumatize her afterward, leading to her new persona of Miracle Queen.
As Miracle Queen, Chloe uses her powers to brainwash nearly all of Paris to get all the Miraculous holders to reveal their identities. Besides Cat Noir and Ladybug, she reveals who every other holder is, giving Hawk Moth an incredible advantage. The fact that she so easily agreed to betray all of her friends and character development poisoned her with fans.
3 Lying Lila Is Becoming The True Villain
From the beginning, fans were never keen on Lila Rossi. She is manipulative and a liar, and she seems to have a vendetta against Marinette. She also uses her lies to make people feel sorry for her, which frequently works. However, her most egregious act was when she offered to assist Gabriel Agreste in his take-down of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
Lila is infuriating as a villain because she always seems to get her way. Even if Marinette and her friends win in the end, there have not been severe enough consequences for Lila’s indiscretions. Additionally, her willingness to partner with Gabriel makes her an even more detestable character.
2 Queen Banana Loses Her Appeal
The latest season of Miraculous Ladybug gave viewers many interesting villains, but also some truly bizarre ones as well. One of the strangest villains of season four is Chloe as Queen Banana. After not getting her way when making a student film, Chloe is willingly akumatized into a banana-themed villain with a banana car and a gorilla Sentimonster.
This Chloe villain was disappointing to fans hoping for a Chloe redemption-arc because she signified Chloe as an irredeemable. She once again sides with Hawk Moth, and her only reason for becoming a villain was not getting her way. Fans felt like this choice was a slap in the face for those who were rooting for Chloe in earlier episodes.
1 Felix Gives Hawk Moth All The Power
Although audiences were unsure of what to think about Felix Graham de Vanily at first, they can now say with complete confidence that he is the worst villain. Felix is Adrien’s cousin and has always had negative feelings for the Agrestes.
Although Felix does not do anything to Cat Noir or Ladybug directly, he does manage to steal all but two Miraculouses and hands most of them to Hawk Moth. Not only does this give Hawk Moth an unbelievable advantage, but it is also going to make it that much harder for Cat Noir and Ladybug to set everything right.
