Fortnite Chapter Three Season Three: Vibin’ has arrived to shake things up for players of the uber-popular franchise. Bringing several compelling new characters, ridable boars and wolves and even interactive trees, Fortnite is doing its best to top itself once again.
With its release, players who purchased the battle pass will be able to unlock Darth Vader and Indiana Jones later on down the line. Following Chapter Three, Season Two’s “Collision” event, this season has turned the entire world of Fortnite upside down with its party-like atmosphere and vibrant color palette. Here is everything there is to know about its release.
There have been a few map changes in this update, including one location called Reality Falls, home of the Reality Tree. The area is filled with bouncy, trampoline-like mushrooms players can use to leap and bound around the region. The map showcases intense purple trees, caves overflowing with loot, tranquil waterfalls, geysers that can shoot players into the sky and more. The Reality Tree will also send out Reality Seed Pods that players will be able to plant. Once they do, a Reality Sapling will begin to grow. During matches, players will see their sapling in the same spot, progressively spawning better and better loot until finally bearing Mythic loot. Of course, players will need to weed their sapling for it to provide them with their loot.
One of the new mechanics allows players to jump onto the backs of wildlife present throughout the map, like wolves or boars, and ride them straight into the Ballers. These are giant hamster balls that allow players to grapple and travel around the map. These were introduced back in Season X but have since been fortified with more health, the ability to float on water and a battery charge that will eventually run out. If players would rather use the wild animals as their mode of transportation, that’s completely okay too. Players won’t need to dismount to engage in battle either; they can demolish enemies by shooting or throwing weapons while riding their animal of choice.
On top of everything else, new weapons have been released, including the Designated Marksman Rifle, an Assault Rifle, and Sniper Rifle hybrid. Also included are the Hammer Assault Rifle and Two-Shot Shotgun, which look as though they will wreak havoc on the opposition. Of course, some fan favorites will also be returning, such as the Stinger SMG, Firefly Jar, Cow Catcher, The Dub, the Repair Tool and more.
Darth Vader is the ultimate achievement for players who have obtained their Battle Pass. While he can be unlocked at the start of the season, it will take some serious work to get there. Later on down the line, players can unlock Indiana Jones cosmetic designs by completing quests. Along with these characters, others are also available throughout the Battle Pass tiers. Evie will be unlocked right after the pass has been purchased, followed by Adira, Stormfarer, Sabina, Malik and Snap. Battle Pass players also have the opportunity to assemble Snap, a living action figure that comes with arms, legs, torsos, and heads that can be swapped out with pieces players find around the map.
In addition to all of these significant changes, a new Storm Sickness causes storms to do more damage to players who get caught within their grasp. There is no need to panic, though — players will be able to cure this sickness by exiting the storm before it kills them. Players will also receive a warning when they come close to gaining the sickness, ensuring they have ample time to escape before meeting their doom.
Fortnite’s newest season is one for the books, bringing in many new mechanics, characters and vast amounts of fun. Though the season is scheduled to end on September 17, changes can always be made regarding a guaranteed end date. Between the bouncy ‘shrooms, rocket-like geysers, trees that bear loot and wild animals to use as a mode of transportation, players will enjoy countless hours of hardcore battle and partying.
