The Rising of the Shield Hero is a fantasy isekai anime series starring the Shield Hero, Naofumi Iwatani, and his band of adventurers. This is a world of magic, monsters, and action – powerful spells and enchantments make all the difference in a fight to the death. The wizards of the Harry Potter know what that’s like, too.
It’s easy to imagine fantasy anime characters getting reborn in the Harry Potter world as wand-carry wizards, often as students at the Hogwarts school or employees at the Ministry of Magic. And sure enough, plenty of Shield Hero characters would find success in the Wizarding World as ace students at Hogwarts, magical employees, and more.
10 Naofumi Iwatani Should Study Charms
The protagonist Naofumi Iwatani is all about magical shields and defenses as per his role as the Shield Hero, and that translates well into the Harry Potter magic system. What Naofumi does can be best described as Charms, a topic taught by Ravenclaw’s head of house, Filius Flitwick.
Amusingly enough, there really is a Shield Charm in the Harry Potter universe, and Naofumi should definitely learn to cast it. Then, he could invent stronger and more specialized variants of the Shield Charm to protect his fellow Hogwarts students from Dark wizards and the like.
9 Rishia Ivyred Could Study Charms & Defense Against The Dark Arts
In Season 2 of Shield Hero, Naofumi’s party expanded to include the timid mage Rishia Ivyred, who didn’t really believe in herself. No matter her self-doubt, though, Rishia is an accomplished and surprisingly clever and resourceful adventurer, and she can do a lot of good.
Rishia is already a magic user, making her a fine fit for the Harry Potter world. In this case, her elemental magic would translate well into Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts, mostly to support Aurors in battle. She won’t let her friends get hurt ever again.
8 Princess Melty Is Eager To Learn More Magic
The bratty princess Melty acts like a tsundere at times, but she’s a good kid who wants what’s best for everyone, just like Rishia Ivyred. Melty is about the right age to begin her magical education at Hogwarts, and she would likely get sorted into Hufflepuff as a selfless, hardworking support wizard.
Melty can use water-based magic in Shield Hero, so at Hogwarts, she would study Transfiguration under professor Minerva McGonagall and learn to summon and control water to defend herself with magic. She might augment this fighting style with some tricky Charm work, too.
7 Princess Malty Should Try Charms & Transfiguration, Too
Princess Malty would likely end up as a mistrusted Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts with some Slytherin elements to her. She would form her own Draco Malfoy-style gang of scyophants and fans in the process. As for magic, she would take the same route as her little sister, Melty.
Malty the Ravenclaw is all about wind and magic, so a combination of Charms and Transfiguration would suit her best. Malty would soon become one of Ravenclaw’s best duelists, though she might need help with classes like History of Magic.
6 Ost Hourai Should Pursue Charms & Defense Against The Dark Arts
Season 2 of Shield Hero introduced the Spirit Tortoise’s familiar, the magic-slinging Ost Hourai. For many years, she helped the Tortoise kill people to harvest their souls, but now she fights to protect all people as a true shonen hero. And now she’s a Hogwarts student, too.
Ost Hourai would likely get sorted either into Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, then get to work practicing Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts to protect all people from the wrath of Voldemort and his Death Eater minions. Ost would lay down her life to put an end to their rampage.
5 Kyo Ethnina Would Get Expelled From Hogwarts
The obnoxious villain Kyo Ethnina is the Book Vassal Hero, and in the Harry Potter universe, he would end up a Slytherin, a selfish and ambitious student who will cross all kinds of lines to gain more power. He would explore every corner of magic at Hogwarts to get what he wants.
Eventually, Kyo will take things too far, and end up expelled from Hogwarts. Now he’s going rogue as a Dark wizard, and he’ll keep studying bizarre magic to pursue his own goals and prove how complacent and foolish the mainstream Wizarding World is. Not even Voldemort truly understands him.
4 Filo Should Get Into Quidditch
Naofumi’s filolial foster daughter, Filo, is a cheerful kid who is always up for fun and adventures. In Harry Potter terms, Filo would be sorted into Gryffindor as a brave and team-oriented young witch, and she would also be an Animagus who can morph into a chicken. That’s rare talent indeed.
At Hogwarts, Filo would have no interest in History of Magic or Herbology, but she would have fun with Charms and Transfiguration, and she would also join the Gryffindor Quidditch team and take to the skies on her new broom. Filo is quite elegant and formidable in the air, and would likely play as a Chaser.
3 The Slave Trader Could Handle Magical Creatures
If he sanitized his methods somewhat, the unnamed Slave Trader could find new work as a Harry Potter wizard who buys and sells magical creatures of all different species. He should never actually enslave creatures such as centaurs or merfolk, but he could trade creatures such as hippogryffs and thestrals.
The Slave Trader has a real flair for business and showmanship, and he could set up shop somewhere near London to help wizards acquire their own magical pets and supplies for those same pets. He might not sell Hagrid’s blast-ended skrewts, though – those things are just nasty.
2 Glass Should Become An Auror
The kimono-wearing Glass is a Vassal Weapon Hero from another world, and she is often seen traveling with L’Arc Berg the Scythe Hero and Therese Alexandrite. Glass made her first appearance in Season 1 as an antagonist, though recently, she has been a circumstantial ally of Naofumi’s party.
Glass is all about magic with her fans, and she could easily trade those fans for a Harry Potter wand instead. With it, she could defend her fellow wizards from evil as a trained Auror, and specialize in Charms and Transfiguration. She’d do well in those fields of magic.
1 Therese Alexandriate Is All About Transfiguration
Therese Alexandrite is another major character in L’Arc’s party, a Jewel who can use gems to cast elemental magic of all kinds. She is a powerful support mage in Shield Hero, and in the world of Harry Potter, Therese would find work as support-oriented Auror.
In particular, Therese would study Defense Against the Dark Arts and Transfiguration to prepare for this job. The latter matches Therese’s magical talents for conjuring elemental materials out of thin air, which is a major aspect of Transfiguration, and Therese could easily Transfigure her Dark wizard enemies into submission.
