Marvel Comics presents an exclusive preview of Avengers Forever #7, by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder and Cam Smith.

Marvel Comics provided CBR with an exclusive preview of Avengers Forever #7, by Jason Aaron, Aaron Kuder, Cam Smith, Guru-eFX and VC’s Cory Petit. The preview introduces a number of variants of Steve Rogers/Captain America to the Marvel Universe, including one that’s a literal dog.

Created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, Rogers first appeared in 1941’s Captain America Comics #1. After taking the Super-Soldier Serum, the otherwise frail Rogers gained super abilities and a powerful shield, which he used to fight in World War II. Eventually, Rogers ended up getting frozen in ice before later being revived. Since then, Rogers has been a key member of a number of Marvel teams, including the Avengers. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character was played by Chris Evans.

Avengers Forever has primarily dealt with members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes from different realities forming to take on the Multiversal Masters of Evil. Other members of the group include Tony Stark/Ant-Man and Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider. Avengers Forever #7 reveals a prison filled with very different versions of Rogers, including a dog. One of the Rogers tries to escape, but ends up back in his cellblock. The book starts on “Day 1,” and it’s not clear just how long the various Rogers have been — or will be — imprisoned.
