Sideshow and Hot Toys reveal a Morbius sixth-scale figure based on Jared Leto’s likeness at San Diego Comic-Con, which is now available to pre-order.

Sideshow and Hot Toys have revealed a screen-accurate sixth-scale figure based on Jared Leto’s Morbius from the 2022 Sony/Marvel film of the same name at 2022’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Available for pre-order on Sideshow, the upcoming Marvel figure boasts “a detailed likeness of actor Jared Leto.” The figure also comes with a new hand-painted head sculpt that perfectly captures “Morbius’ grisly visage with red eyes, sharp teeth, gray skin texture, and wrinkles. The meticulously tailored outfit includes a finely detailed, lined coat which has a wired hem for posing. Accessories include speed effects and a swarm of bats for Morbius to summon.” The figure stands approximately 11.81″ tall and features over 30 points of articulations in the body along with four interchangeable hands with long nails.

The product is expected to ship in 2023 between July and December. Morbius is the latest Marvel movie character to receive a Hot Toys sixth-scale figure with Chris Hemsworth’s Thor from Thor: Love and Thunder also receiving the collectible figure treatment. Fans can currently pre-order either the Collector Edition or the Deluxe Version of Thor at Sideshow. Although Morbius is not officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, fans who purchase both Hot Toys figures will be able to prominently display the figures and imagine what a crossover between the Living Vampire and the God of Thunder would look like on the big screen.

Will There Be a Morbius Sequel?

Sony has not officially announced a sequel for its 2022 film Morbius at this time, although Leto has teased fans online that a second Morbius film is in development. The Marvel adaptation received mostly negative reviews from critics when it opened in theaters on April 1. The film also underperformed at the box office, grossing only $163.8 million worldwide against a $75-83 million budget. Leto remains interested in returning as Morbius, saying, “Well, as the old thing goes, never say never,” when asked if he’d be open to reprising the role in a future film set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Despite Sony’s failed theatrical re-release strategy for Morbius, fans will still have one more chance to see the Marvel film in theaters. SDCC 2022 will be showing a screening of Morbius, which will begin at 3:50 PM on Thursday, July 21. It will be held in Grand 5 of the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina following a showing of Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and before The Fifth Element. SDCC will also be screening Spider-Man: No Way Home later that same day.

Fans can pre-order the Morbius Hot Toys figure for $260. Fans can also purchase Morbius on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
