AppleTV+ has released a two-minute sneak peek of the highly anticipated Foundation Season 2.
In the clip, the clone leader of the Galactic Empire, Cleon I, also known as Brother Day (Lee Pace), narrowly avoids an assassination attempt when his steamy encounter with robot aid Eto (Laura Birn) is interrupted. He successfully fights off one bad guy, despite being in a state of undress but is bested by a second. Before Bother Day is killed, Eto steps in to save him.
Foundation Season 2 begins as tensions mount across the galaxy, more than a century after the Season 1 finale. As the Cleons begin to unravel, a vengeful queen hatches a plan to undermine and ultimately destroy the Empire from within. Meanwhile, Hari, Gaal, and Salvor stumble upon a colony of Mentalics with psychic abilities, whose powers can disrupt the very fabric of psychohistory.
Amid these tumultuous events, the Foundation enters a religious phase, spreading the teachings of the Church of Seldon throughout the Outer Reach and inciting the Second Crisis: war with Empire. Created for AppleTV+ by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, Foundation is based on the popular series of stories by Sir Isaac Asimov.

The series follows the journeys of these four characters, transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties, and complicated relationships that will determine the fate of humanity.
Foundation Season 2 also features other returning cast members, such as Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, and Terrence Mann. New faces joining the sci0fi series include Isabella Laughland as Brother Constant, Kulvinder Ghir as Poly Verisof, Ella-Rae Smith as Queen Sareth of Cloud Dominion, Holt McCallany as Warden Jaegger Fount, Rachel House as Tellem Bond, Nimrat Kaur as Yanna Seldon, Ben Daniels as Bel Riose and Dimitri Leonidas as Hober Mallow.
The first official trailer for Foundation Season 2 hinted at the coming war between the Foundation and the Empire. The clip begins with a voiceover from Brother Day, saying, “The Foundation is a threat to me.” His words ultimately set the tone for the upcoming season.
The 10-episode second season of Foundation premieres on July 14, with new episodes airing weekly through Sep. 15.
