A new deleted scene from The Flash Season 9 spotlights a never-before-seen moment that was cut from Episode 8 “Partners in Time.”

Per TVLine, the moment itself follows Iris West and Barry Allen as the two step to the side and take a moment to evaluate their situation after they discover that a “time thief” is responsible for locking them in what is presumed to be a time bubble with a group of inspectors. The Flash and his lover take a moment to quickly argue over the best way forward as Iris chastizes the superhero for exposing his secret identity to everyone else in the room. The duo ultimately settle on the plan much to Barry’s frustration.

The deleted scene comes from what many believe to be the worst episode of The Flash. “Partners in Time” boasts the lowest critical of the entire series with audiences and critics viewing it as filler in an already trunchated season that ultimately didn’t add to overall in any meaningful way.

Saying Goodbye to The Flash

The Flash Season 9 served as Grant Gustin’s final run as Barry Allen as the actor hung up his tights and bid farewell to the series. The final installment of the Scarlet Speedster’s show on The CW also marked the end of the entire sprawling Arrowverse, a shared universe of TV series that also comprised Black Lightning, Batwoman, Supergirl, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. While the saga may have come to a close, Gustin has admitted that if he’s presented with the write story, he could see himself getting back into his superhero threads again. “I’m not going to say I’m hanging it up for good. I have no idea what the future holds,” he said. “And not even Flash-related, so many people would ask what I wanted to do when this chapter was over, and how I probably wouldn’t want to do superhero things again, but no, I grew up a fan of this genre.

As for his feelings on the show coming to an end, Gustin was similarly pensive about The Flash‘s final story, noting that he was already missing certain aspects of the job before Season 9 had even wrapped. “”I mean, the people for sure. The obvious and the true answer is the cast and the crew and the routine,” Gustin said. “I mean things that become routine that you take for granted. We became family. We were all really well taken care of. You just fall into a rhythm with everything, and that’s just the rhythm of the work and the people I got to work with.”

The Flash: The Complete Ninth Season and The Flash: The Complete Series arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on Aug. 29.
