The undead will take over Marvel this October in Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood and the Stormbreakers will celebrate the occasion with eight spooky variant covers.
Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood will be a four-issue miniseries written and illustrated by various talented creators. Marvel revealed in a press release that the series is “set in a world where your favorite heroes were helpless against an ever-growing horde of zombies! It’s going to be a gloriously gory dose of unimaginable horror.”

Marvel’s Stormbreakers, a program filled with the comic book industry’s most promising up-and-coming artists, will also participate in the delightfully frightful event. The artists will provide October’s most anticipated comics with a spooky variant cover. “Marvel’s Stormbreakers are joining the fun as well with October’s line of Stormbreakers Variant Covers! Just in time for the Halloween season, see Marvel’s most inventive artists tap into true terror with haunting depictions of flesh-eating monstrosities,” said the publisher.
The Stormbreakers class of 2023 includes Elena Casagrande, Nic Klein, Jan Bazaldua, Chris Allen, Martin Coccolo, Lucas Werneck, Federico Vicentini, and C.F. Villa. Marvel stated that it has immense faith in these promising creators, saying “Each of these artists embody the raw talent and creative potential to shatter the limits of visual storytelling in comics today! As the next evolution of the groundbreaking Marvel’s Young Guns program, Marvel’s Stormbreakers continues the tradition of spotlighting and elevating these powerful artists to showcase their abilities, artwork and prominence in the world of comic books.”
Marvel’s Zombies Are Making a Comeback
The official synopsis for Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood reads “This action-packed, utterly original, gloriously gory anthology series is set in a universe where the Avengers, the X-Men, Spider-Man, and many more Marvel heroes and villains are beset by ever-growing zombie hordes and transformed into flesh-eating monstrosities. In a brutal, bloodstained world, can hope survive?”
Marvel Zombies: Black, White & Blood #1 written by Garth Ennis, Alex Segura and Ashley Allen with art by Rachael Stott, Javi Fernandez and Justin Mason will be available in comic book stores on October 25. 2023, from Marvel Comics.
