The third season of the animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks is now available to watch for free leading up to the premiere of season four.
Paramount recently uploaded the season to YouTube, PlutoTV and Prime Video as a free streaming option for fans who may need to catch up or wish to rewatch the season. Fans can go to Paramount’s official YouTube channel or Amazon Prime to watch all ten episodes now, or catch episodes individually as they air on rotation on PlutoTV throughout September.
Star Trek: Lower Decks is an adult animated series set in the Star Trek universe that follows the supporting crew of the USS Cerritos in the year 2380 as they encounter both personal and space-related work problems in their day-to-day lives. The show stars The Boys’ Jack Quaid, Tawny Newsome, Jerry O’Connell, and Eugene Cordero and is fully canon to other official Star Trek shows, even having crossed over with the Paramount+ original series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
The new season will reportedly have the Cerritos crew facing off against malevolent computers and all-new aliens as well as classic ones set to return from the main series. With the premiere date approaching quickly, it’s a good time for fans of the series to catch up on the last few episodes or revisit the third season to reminisce about story beats.
Season four of the show is set to premiere on Paramount+ this Thursday, just in time for Star Trek Day on Sept. 8, for which Paramount has revealed a slew of plans to celebrate the series’ legacy and its current achievements. The company is reportedly planning a special screening of Lower Decks as well as special airings of Strange New Worlds on CBS as well and a special program starring Lower Decks star Jerry O’Connell held on the day.
According to Paramount, the events are meant to celebrate the series’ 57-year history as well as the history of Star Trek animated projects, which have developed for over 50 years. The first two episodes of Lower Decks season four are set to premiere on CBS at the end of the Star Trek Day celebrations at 8 p.m. PST on Sept., though the following episodes will be available exclusively on Paramount+.
