Indie studio Battlestate Games has announced an Escape from Tarkov spinoff called Arena, a first-person shooter showcasing a gladiatorial type battle in various cities across Tarkov. While Battlestate did not officially announce a release date, it has said the game will begin its closed testing phase this autumn.
From what has been revealed so far, Escape from Tarkov Arena looks quite similar to the original game. The new game retains much of the core gun-play shooter experiences fans been infatuated with from day one. Much like Escape from Tarkov, the spinoff will only be available to play on PC for the time being. While not much information has been released, fans are thrilled to have a game like this in the works.
When Escape from Tarkov launched, it took the gaming community by storm, becoming one of the most adored games on PC. For those that enjoy the FPS genre, including those who prefer more hardcore and realistic shooters, this game surely won’t disappoint. Battlestate has made it a point to let fans know that PvP and PvE game modes will be available, and that players will be able to unlock new gear, weapons, and more via in-game playtime. More so, it’s rolling out new and improved features such as ratings, Kills Camps, and a more refined PvP experience.
Players who purchased the Edge of Darkness DLC for the original game will be able to get Arena as free DLC. Those who did not can purchase the new content separately. Games who have yet to purchase the original will be able to buy Tarkov Arena as a stand-alone game.
The rating aspect of the game seems to have fans excited. It looks as though it will be a ranked form of gameplay that will show off the progress gamers have made. Everyone loves to track their progress and feel as though they are working towards a goal. With the ratings system, players can feel accomplished as they move up in the ranks. This also means they will most likely include fair-pairing, meaning players will be matched up against others with the same skill level. This will help make the game fairer for everyone involved and make PvP more balanced between players.
While not much has been said about Escape from Tarkov Arena, fans are still excited about what’s to come. With the entirely new stand-alone game, improvements, and new features rolling out, it looks as though the next Escape from Tarkov release could be just as successful, if not more so, than the original.
