The mutant Sabretooth undergoes a horrifying transformation in the fourth issue of his current Marvel solo series.
Looks like Groot has some competition.
Marvel Comics has released an official preview for the fourth and penultimate issue of the X-Men spinoff title Sabretooth, which sees the titular mutant undergo a horrifying transformation, becoming a tree-like creature only just reminiscent of his original self. Victor Creed seemingly accomplishes this by becoming one with the mutant nation of Krakoa itself.
Set to hit comic shops this coming Wednesday, June 29, Sabretooth #4 comes from the creative team of writer Victor Lavalle, penciler/inker Leonard Kirk, inker Craig Yeung, colorist Rain Beredo and letterer Cory Petit. The issue features a cover by Ryan “Venom Boy” Stegman, with inks by JP Mayer and colors by Frank D’Armata.
“Even the best-laid plans fail,” the official solicitation text reads. “But above ground there are other mutants who’ve learned what’s happening in the Pit and they aren’t too pleased with the injustice of their fate. If Sabretooth and the others couldn’t break out of the Pit, maybe someone will just have to break in.”
