Stranger Things star Maya Hawke recently confessed she’s completely forgotten the details of Season 4’s upcoming finale.

Hawke opened up about not remembering the fourth season’s two remaining episodes, which together comprise Volume 2, during an interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. “Well, the thing is, we filmed them a long time ago now,” she said. “It takes a long time to put it together, and so I know that I know what happens [in Season 4, Volume 2] but I don’t remember exactly. I haven’t seen them yet and I don’t remember exactly. So, I’m so excited to see how it all wraps up.”

While Hawke is fuzzy on the specifics of where the hit Netflix sci-fi/horror series is headed next, her co-star David Harbour seems much more clued in about what is and isn’t in store for the residents of Hawkins. Harbour recently shared his favorite Stranger Things Season 4 fan theory, which he nevertheless debunked as completely erroneous “There was one [theory] that Hopper actually did die last season, and they cloned him in Russia, and this season I’m going to be the bad guy,” he said. “The Vecna character and I are linked in some way. It’s totally wrong, but I like it.”

There will be plenty of time for other fan theories to be tested when Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 2 arrives, given the feature-length runtime of both episodes. “Chapter Eight: Papa” clocks in at 1 hour and 25 minutes, while “Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” unfolds over 2 hours and 30 minutes. The show’s co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer recently explained why Stranger Things Season 4’s episodes are generally longer than those of previous seasons. “If you look at one of the episodes — like, you couldn’t cut it out 15 minutes early,” Matt Duffer said, with Ross Duffer adding that the season finale itself wouldn’t feel satisfying if it were shorter.

The Duffers also touched on the future of the franchise, discussing their plans for a Stranger Things spinoff. The siblings reiterated that Netflix remains completely in the dark regarding the spinoff’s premise and suggested production won’t commence until shooting wraps on Stranger Things Season 5. “There’s a version of it developing in parallel [to Season 5], but they would never shoot it parallel,” Ross Duffer said. “I think actually we’re going to start delving into that soon as we’re winding down and finishing these visual effects, Matt and I are going to start getting into it.”

Stranger Things Season 4, Volume 1 is currently streaming on Netflix. Volume 2 premieres on July 1.
