A recent cosplay brings one of Ahri’s many skins from League of Legends to life in stunning detail.

The Spirit Blossom Ahri costume was uploaded on Reddit by professional cosplayer Bella, who has been honing her craft for ten years; it features vibrant pink hair, an intricate outfit, a mischievous smirk and the character’s iconic Orb of Deception glowing with power. According to the cosplayer, she used Photoshop to create the cherry blossom-filled background. Also apparent are Ahri’s iconic nine tails, curled up behind her as if using them as a chair.

League of Legends is a free-to-play online multiplayer battle arena video game by Riot Games that launched in October 2009. Two teams of five players each attempt to take over the other team’s half of the map and destroy their Nexus while defending their side from attack. While the game has well-documented issues with toxic players and in-game balance, it also has a passionate fan following and has performed well with critics. The game has won multiple Game Awards over the years and in 2018, it won a Sports Emmy Award.

Furthermore, League of Legends is one of the world’s biggest Esports, with multiple major leagues across the globe. The World Championships occur every year at the end of the Summer Split, and the winners receive the Summoner’s Cup trophy, the champion title and a multi-million dollar prize. This year, the tournament will be held in several cities across North America, with the finals hosted in San Francisco.

With 13 total skins, Ahri, the Nine-Tailed Fox, is one of League of Legends‘ most prominent and popular champions. Released in December 2011, she has become a mainstay for both casual and competitive play, often featuring in the mid-lane. Since the game is regularly updated, new champions are frequently added, with two of the most recent being Bel’Veth, the monstrous Empress of the Void, and Renata Glasc, the Chem-Baroness.

Riot Games recently dropped a trailer for the next champion to be introduced to the world of Runeterra, Nilah, and reactions from gamers have not been positive. Many have pointed out issues with the character’s powers and abilities in terms of balancing her against the other champions in League of Legends. Moreover, some have described her design as generic and asserted that she is too similar to another character in the game — Samira, the Desert Rose.

League of Legends can be played on PC and macOS. Its collectible card game spinoff, Legends of Runeterra, is available on PC, Android and iOS.
