Jack Quaid had some words of wisdom for the cast of The Boys’ upcoming spinoff Gen V.

In an interview with SFX Magazine, Jaz Sinclair, who stars as Marie Moreau in the series, said that Quaid emphasized the importance of camaraderie among the actors. “He was just like, ‘Stay a family, stay a team. This is where it’s at. If you guys have each other, you’ll get through this. So, don’t lose sight of that,'” Sinclair said. “This is the real family, you know, talking about the cast and, like, really being unified. And I value that because you can feel that when they’re together.”

Sinclair went on to share her enthusiasm for the spinoff. “I’m just really excited for people to see this show,” she said. “I feel like we’ve all poured our hearts and souls into this. You know, blood, sweat and tears, lack of sleep, intense scenes, crazy action. It’s been such a labor of love. I really hope that people love it, ’cos we loved making it.”

Inspired by the story arc “We Gotta Go Now” from the original The Boys comic series, Gen V will follow Marie and other students at Godolkin University School of Crimefighting as they learn how to use their superpowers and train to become the next wave of supes for Vought International. However, the coeds soon learn all is not as it seems at the university, leading to the discovery of a dark conspiracy. In addition to Sinclair, the cast will include Lizze Broadway, Chance Pedromo, Maddie Phillips, Derek Luh, London Thor, Asa Germann and Shelly Conn.

Gen V will take place after Season 3 of The Boys and feature appearances of characters from the original series, including Claudia Doumet as congresswoman, Vice Presidential candidate and head-exploding supe Victoria Neuman. “It was great to shoot Gen V because they tee up a lot of stuff that’s going to happen in Season 4 for The Boys,” she promised. “Gen V lays a lot of the groundwork and a lot of the foundations that season 4 will be built on for The Boys. So, watch it because it gives you a lot of information.”

Several Familiar Faces Will Appear in Gen V

Other characters confirmed to take part in Gen V include supes A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), the Deep (Chace Crawford) and Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Vought employees Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) and Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne).

Gen V premieres September 29 on Prime Video.
