My Adventures With Superman Debuts First Season 2 Clip

Cookbook Planner

My Adventures with Superman is returning for a second season. While the premiere date is still unknown at this time, Adult Swim has released the first clip from Season 2 of the fan-favorite anime-inspired cartoon.

Posted on the official Adult Swim X account, the intense clip sees Clark Kent encountering a mirage of his Kryptonian father, Jor-El, who warns him that “there is another like you, but we are running out of time.”This revelation comes paired with images teasing the other Kryptonian. However, before Clark can learn more, the mirage fades, leaving Clark staring up at a big alien craft that is hurtling toward Earth. Although short, the clip has already spurred the My Adventures with Superman fandom into a frenzy, with some believing that Jor-El was referring to Superman’s cousin, Kara (a.k.a. Supergirl), while others think he was hinting at the arrival of General Zod.

My Adventures with Superman’s Season 1 Finale Teased General Zod

My Adventures with Superman producer Josie Campbell previously shared last October that the animated series was forbidden from using some of the Man of Steel’s biggest villains for its first season, with Lex Luthor, Brainiac, and General Zod among the characters restricted from appearing. However, while Luthor did not show up, some fans believe the other two did in the Season 1 finale, “Hearts of the Fathers.” In the episode, a robot bearing the three-dot symbol of Brainiac is shown informing a Kryptonian warrior that Earth needs to be conquered. The warrior then delivers Zod’s classic line that humanity will “kneel” before him. It is worth noting that both Brainiac and Zod were never mentioned by name in the scene.

Developed by Wyatt and produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios, My Adventures with Superman is a serialized coming-of-age story starring Jack Quaid as a twenty-something Clark Kent, who along with the bright and driven Lois Lane (Alice Lee) and their best friend Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid) begin to discover who they are while working together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet. The first season aired on Adult Swim from July 7 to Sept. 21, 2023, earning generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the anime influences, voice acting, and light-hearted tone.
